Status of the project @ 2023-01-14

Hello there,

Things have been quite slow with the holidays and everything, so there aren't really any news to speak of.

The newest release of "2D Game Development: From Zero to Hero" will feature a few fixes here and there, as well as unifying a duplicated section and changing some wording here and there to make things a bit clearer.

This isn't a release done due to the "quantity of changes" that happened, as much as a release done due to the amount of time the book has gone "unfixed".

Considering how the year started, I don't think I'll have a huge amount of spare time (and energy) to dedicate to this project, but I will surely try to keep adding new content as much as I can.

This latest release will be also (slowly) uploaded to the Internet Archive for further safekeeping.

Hope things have been going well for you all and I hope for a fruitful and happy 2023 for everyone!

Random Thoughts

I have been thinking about a way to get more feedback about the book, then it hit me: Itch is the ideal platform to do so, it's where the book is mainly downloaded, so here we go:

Is there anything you would like to see featured in this book? A certain programming language, pattern or anything related to game dev? What's missing from other game dev books you've read that you would like to see in a new(ish) book?

Conclusions

The project is still alive, although somewhat dormant due to me being only a single person with a very stressing day job.

Thanks everyone for reading and downloading this book!

As always, I'm linking to the source code of the book, both on GitHub and GitLab, in case you want to contribute or let me know about any mistake:

Take care everyone,

Penaz.
